The Final round of Blank Cup was played at Weedons Country Club yesterday in fine, calm conditions and the course in great order. Teams were competing for Semi-Final spots and the B O'Malley Salver was also at stake and hotly contested for the best performed player over the past nine rounds.
Clearwater will play Coringa and Russley will play Christchurch in the Semi-Finals on Finals Day, 8 November at Waitikiri Golf Club. Waimairi Beach finished a very close fifth after Coringa won the fourth Semi-Final spot on a countback of number of individual games won.
The B O'Malley Salver was jointly won by Ash Watts (Waimairi Beach), left and Simon Murphy (Russley) who both finished unbeaten with eight wins and a half from nine games. Clearwater's Geoff Clarke previously unbeaten up until the final round with an 8-8 record lost in the final round to eventual joint winner Ash Watts.
