The NZ Men's Interprovincial gets underway today at the Hastings Golf Club with the countries best six golfers from each province set to play head-to head matchplay to find out who the best province in the country is this year. The Canterbury Men's Team are looking to build on their third place finish from last years NZ Men's Interprovincial played at Clearwater Golf Club.
The Canterbury Men's Team has an experienced line up which includes two current NZ Representative players Matt McLean and Kazuma Kobori. Reid Hilton will have added experience to offer the team this week having played the Bridge Pa course in a number of events most recently in February when he won the Hastings Open. Andrew Green will anchor the team in the number three position with Mike Toeke leading the team out at number five. Sam Purdon will also be onhand to support the team in the reserve role with Mike Taylor and Kerry Chuck managing the team.
The team will be captained by Andrew Green who is looking forward to the opportunity to play the event at the Bridge Pa golf course this week. "Bridge Pa is alway in really good condition and this week is no different, the green staff have the course in great shape. The team have prepared well and are looking sharp, we are ready to get the campaign underway with our first round match against Bay of Plenty".
