The 2019 Riccarton Park Golf Complex Canterbury 4BBB Championship is being played at Russley this Sunday, and has again attracted a full and quality field to compete for the Canterbury titles.
In the men's field the top rated pair are Kazuma Kobori and Hiroki Miya on a combined handicap index of +8.7. They are closely followed by the pairings of Cameron Grant and Jordan Bakermans, Nic Kay and Nick Franzmann, Mike Toeke and Jason Sincock, and Josh Roche and Reid Hilton - all on plus combined handicaps. Last year's champions Brett Turner and Steve Bell are back to defend and having been getting a bit of stick on social media about whether they can defend or not.
The women's field is led by the pairing of Catherine Bell and Hillary O'Connor, their nearerst challengers will be Amy Weng and Anika Park, and the Canterbury Masters pairing of Kim Moggach and Naomi Wallace.
First tee off is at 10am, and with weather prospects looking good it should be another fine day to kick off what is now traditionally the first tournament of the new season.
