The annual 2022 Men’s South Island Interprovincial tournament was played over the weekend hosted by Hororata Golf Club. Hororata, which this year was celebrating their centenary was in impressive condition, with many commenting that the course was in the best condition they had seen it. A credit to the greenkeeper Andrew Bell and the team of volunteers including Al Sime for their tireless work to bring the course up to the standard it was presented in.

The following players have been selected to represent Canterbury at the South Island Age Group Interprovincial being played at the Hororata Golf Club 29-30 October vs Otago.
This fixture will see the boys play four different match play format throughout the weekend as follows:
Saturday 29th October
Round 1 - From 8.40am | Reverse Singles Match PlayRound 2 - From 1.08pm | Best Ball Match Play
Sunday 30th October
Round 3 - From 8.10am | Foursomes Match PlayRound 4 - From 12.40pm | Singles Match Play

The final round of Canterbury Central Masters round-robin play was completed yesterday at Akaroa in fine conditions. The National U17 Eagles Championships was played earlier this week at Mangawhai Golf Course. There are 15 Eagles Societies throughout NZ with each Society sending a 3-person mixed team of boys & girls to compete in individual & team competitions. This tournament sees some of the best young golfers in NZ from this age bracket as well as providing up-and-coming young players who are showing great promise an opportunity to be introduced to a more competitive side of golf and to also meet and make new friends, develop camaraderie and enjoyment through the game of golf.

Templeton, Clearwater, Russley, and Waitikiri will contest the semi-finals of the 2022 Woodward Cup after the final two rounds were played at Templeton Golf Club yesterday.
Round 8
In the morning the feature match was Pegasus v Clearwater. Pegasus had NZ rep Kazuma Kobori back in the team and he duly obliged with a 4/3 win over Canterbury team-mate Dominic Brettkelly. Phil Stephens and James Cadenhead also won for Pegasus while Shaun Allan halved with Archie Gothard, and Marcus Mariu halved with Leon Yee. Round 7 of Pollock Cup was played at Waimairi Beach on Sunday in sunny, warm conditions and the course in great order.
With Semi-Final positions up for grabs and several players in contention for the coveted Merle Barley Salver, it was always going to be an exciting morning of golf.
