2022 Canterbury Golf Annual Awards Dinner

Opening slide image The 2022 Canterbury Golf Annual Awards Dinner was held at Christchurch Golf Club last Friday night after a three year hiatus due to COVID. 125 people turned out to celebrate, socialise, and connect with the golf community. Newstalk ZB Sports Breakfast Co-host Craig Kerr admirably stepped in for regular MC Phil McGoldrick after he broke his pelvis in a skiing accident, and welcomed the audience with a video of junior development, talent development, interclub, and rep highlights of the year. 2022 Woodward Cup Team Woodward Cup starts this Sunday at Waitikiri and a collective prayer for no more rain between now and Sunday would be good. 2022 Pollock Team This year’s Pollock Cup starts on Sunday at Avondale with three new clubs, hosts Avondale, Harewood and Waimairi Beach involved this season. Catherine Bell to take over as Participation Coordinator

Catherine will be continuing in the full-time role of Participation Coordinator that was created due to the phenomenal growth and increased focus on work fostering participation in golf, including overseeing our very successful Futures Canterbury programme. Canterbury North vs Central

2022 Central Team The annual Canterbury Central vs Canterbury North fixture was played at Weedons Golf Club recently with the contest turning into a very tight affair. Following a -4 degree frost delay, play got underway with the Foursomes teeing off at 10am. Canty North v Marlborough 2022 Seniors LR The Annual Canterbury North vs Marlborough representative fixture was held at Kaikoura Golf Club on the Sunday. The Senior Men (pictured right) defeated Marlborough 9-3, winning the morning foursomes 4-0 and the afternoon singles 5-3. The Intermediate Men defeated Marlborough 7.5-4.5, winning 3.5-.5 in the foursomes and drew their singles 4-4. An overall win to Canterbury North 16.5-7.5 Click here for Full Results

Toby Richards Trophy Winners 2022 Tai Tapu LR The Toby Richards Trophy and Cresswell Cup matches were played at Charteris Golf Club yesterday in fine, sunny conditions with the course in great order.
