The final round of Canterbury Central Brownie Cup interclub was played at Ellesmere Golf Club on Sunday in fine, sunny conditions and the course in great order.
Lincoln were on top of the table leading into the final round with their opposition Akaroa two points behind.
Akaroa gave themselves a fighting chance of taking the title by defeating Lincoln 5-4 but Lincoln's team of, from left David Gugich, Graham Allan, Wayne Gugich, Scott Saunders, Darryl Moore and Josh Thomson. (Absent Kerry Klemick, Hugo Rycroft, Scott Paterson) had a superior games total winning the Brownie Cup by two games.

The Canterbury Central Patterson Cup interclub Final was played at Ellesmere yesterday in fine, sunny conditions with the course and greens in particular in great order.
The Final was between the two top teams in the Patterson Cup North Zone, hosts Ellesmere against Tai Tapu. Ellesmere had taken the honours in their round robin fixture however Tai Tapu were in no mood for a repeat and their team of Derek Watson, Jason Blair, Jeffrey Cairns, Rod Frewen, Scott Ward and Sean Spencer defeated the home team 8-1.

The Final of 9 Hole Interclub between Templeton and Rangiora 1 was played at Russley Golf Club yesterday in very drizzly, cold conditions. While it was touch and go as to whether the 9 Hole Finals Day would proceed due to the wet condition of the course, they received the green light and all the teams supporting the Finalists braved the wintery conditions.

The Kaikoura Cup and Templeton Cup Finals were held at Rangiora on Sunday in cold, drizzly conditions and the course in great order, considering the amount of rain that fell over the previous 24 hours.
The Kaikoura Cup Final was always going to be a tight affair after two close matches between the two finalists Amberley and Amuri in round robin play and it didn’t disappoint.

The Women’s Weekend Interclub Final was played yesterday at Pegasus Golf Club in cold conditions with light drizzle most of the round making playing conditions challenging.The competition had already had it’s share of upsets, with the third and fourth seeds after round robin play Russley and McLeans Island winning their Semi-Finals to progress to the Final.

The final round robin matches of Junior Match Play Interclub were completed at Harewood Golf Club yesterday with the Semi-Finalsts being decided. Top seed Hororata will play Russley Red and Russley Black will play Russley Gold next Sunday at Hororata.
Individual honours for the Most Valuable Player, Maori Wahaika Trophy were aslo decided yesterday and while there were several players in contention for this trophy leading up to the final round, it was Russley Gold's James Walker who won the honour of MVP for 2022, winning his final match to make it a perfect five-from-five record.

The final round of Central Shield interclub was played at Weedons Country Club on Sunday with the host club's teams in prime positions leading into the day's matches.Weedons Black needed results to go their way to edge their Weedons Red clubmates, however both teams had respective wins against Hororata Black 5-1 and Hororata Yellow 4.5-.5 ensuring that Weedons Red took out the honours and silverware.The Weedons Red team, from left are Shaun Payne, Brad Nightingale, Jonathan Stieller and Devon Nightingale.

The final of the Women's 18 Hole Silver Interclub competition was played at Amberley Golf Club yesterday in perfect, sunny conditions and the course in great order.The Final was between Russley and last year's Champions Harewood, attempting to go back-to-back and almost did, however Russley had other ideas and after a 3-3 result at the end of regulation 18 holes it came down to a countback of individual holes won on the day which favoured Russley 25-24. The Tour Championship event was held on Sunday in ideal conditions at Clearwater Golf Club. This was a special day as it marked the return of the event for the first time in 3 years following the recently Covid affected seasons.
As always is the case with this event, it was a rare occasion when we can get together so many valued people from the various roles within the Canterbury Golf Community from volunteers, sponsors, Friends of Canterbury Golf members, senior players, and young players all rubbing shoulders together.
