Canterbury North Women's Interclub Postponed

As a result of Canterbury remaining in COVID 19 Alert Level 4, Canterbury North Women's Interclub this Monday is postponed. Round 7 will now be played at Amberley on 13 September.

Town vs Country - Cancelled

Following yesterday afternoon's announcement of COVID 19 Level 4 restrictions remaining in place until at least 11.59pm on Friday 27 August and the uncertainty around any potential move down the alert levels prior to Sunday, the decision has been made to cancel the scheduled Town vs Country fixture due to be played at Rangiora Golf Club on Sunday 29 August. Canterbury Golf Annual Awards Dinner on Hold

Due to the COVID lockdown the 2021 Canterbury Golf Annual Awards Dinner to be held at Christchurch Golf Club this Friday 20 August has had to be put on hold. Options will be looked at to reschedule the dinner within the next month at the same venue, or present the annual awards in conjunction with the Canterbury Golf AGM to be held at Russley Golf Club Wednesday 8 September. Of course this all depends on how the current COVID situation pans out in the next few weeks and at what alert level we are in. We will keep you updated.

2021 Woodward Cup Gets Underway

After the first round was washed out last weekend the 2021 Woodward Cup finally got underway in fine conditions at Clearwater yesterday. Alot of interest centred around the new Templeton line-up and they didn't disappoint with a solid 6-2 win over a gutsy Avondale. Mike Toeke, Ryan Bellamy, and Dan Laughton won well, while Nick Franzman, Tom Wilson, and Josh Simpson got last hole wins. For Avondale Richard Sinclair soundly beat Jordon Latter, and Dan Moriarty beat Sam McGill. Bottle Lake sent a warning to other teams when they drew with perennial favourites Russley. Pollock Cup Round 1 at Pegasus

16 August 2021

Pollock Cup commenced at Pegasus Golf Club on Sunday with the home side having the bye, while the other two games were very tight till the end. Christchurch edged out Waitikiri 3.5-2.5 with Christchurch's wins coming courtesy of Nicky Webb, Melissa Newburn and a big win for Ina Lee-Hall while Catherine Bell halved her match with Kim Moggach at the top of the order. Waitikiri's other two wins came from Jenny Clarke and Chris Marple. The second match between Russley and Clearwater was also an arm wrestle finishing 3-3 and a game of two halves. 2021 Pollock Cup Preview

This year’s Pollock Cup starts this Sunday at Pegasus Golf Club and will have a new look to it with some off-season player movement between clubs, some new faces to Pollock Cup and several of our top women golfers missing after turning professional since last year’s competition. A new look Russley team without Hillary O’Connor, who has turned professional and Maddie May who they meet as opposition first up, play Clearwater. First Round of Men's Interclub Postponed

The first round of Woodward, Blank and Simon Cup has been postponed due to the wet weather and courses being unplayable. This round will be postponed to the scheduled reserve day which is 31st October for Woodward and Blank Cups and 17th October for Simon Cup.
