Russley Win Women's National Teams' District Final

4 May 2018

Womens National Teams District Final Winners 2018 LR 21 teams from around the Canterbury region competed in the 2018 National Women's Teams District Final at Waitikiri on Friday in fine but cool conditions and the course in great order considering the recent wet weather.    The Russley team pictured from left, Jeanette Treacy, Shera Kant, Margaret Ham and Ann Garden won the Distict Final with a pairs four ball net score of 138 one shot clear of Kaiapoi on 139 and Charteris Bay on 142. Russley’s 11.4 under course rating will now compete against all other district winners for the National title.   Click here for Full Results

Hung and Zheng win South Island U19 Titles

South Island U19 Top 3 Juliana Hung (Russley) has produced yet another dominant performance at the South Island U19 Championship which was played at Harewood for the women's event this week.  Hung made it three in a row for this tournament after winning the championship again this year with rounds of 68, 69, 68 to finish on 11 under par, five shots clear of Miree Jung (Titirangi).  Other top finishes included Deanna Matthews (Weedons) who finished 3rd and Estelle Lin (Russley) 4th both in the U13 section.    While the women's event was held at Harewood, a field of 118 men competed at Templeton Golf Club...

Minor Upsets in Metro A & B Finals

Metro A Winners 2018 Waimairi Beach LR The Finals of Christchurch Metro A & B Interclub were played in near perfect conditions at Clearwater yesterday with sunny, calm weather and the course in excellent order. The Metro A Final saw Waimairi Beach's Steve Priest, Dom Robinson, Craig Allsopp, Gary Eyre, Chris Anngow, Dave Smith, Doug Bonner and Peter Perham (pictured below) upset top seed Templeton's James Standeven, Thomas Healy, Richard Hurley, Robert Willems, Andy Lin, John Smalley, Gwon Lee and Freeman Fang 5.5 - 2.5. Canterbury Junior Tournaments

Canterbury Junior April Tournament Canterbury Juniors enjoyed two great days for the tournaments held at Kaiapoi Golf Club yesterday and Waimairi Beach Golf Club today, we appreciate both clubs making their courses available for the tournaments. A field of 38 juniors played in the two tournaments and enjoyed both the great course and weather conditions. The Boys Grade 1 section was won by Hayato Miya (Russley) who had a gross aggregrate score of 143 with Tiaki Ogilvie (Russley) the runner up with 147, the net was won by Cam Harker on 141 with Taylor Holland one shot further back (both Lincoln).   The Boys Grade 2 section was...

The Annual Canterbury North vs Nelson Representative fixture was played at the Motueka Golf Club on the weekend in calm, sunny weather and the course in excellent condition. NZ Women's Masters Wrap Up

Canterbury Womens Masters 2018 Team Photo LR It wasn't the finish the Canterbury Team had hoped for after finishing the NZ Women's Masters in 13th position.  The Canterbury Women's Masters team of Kate Turner, Joanne Kent, Cheryl Kemp and Virginia Faass had good opening rounds sitting as high as tied for 10th during the competition.  The Inglewood Golf Club was a challenge for all players with only one even par round recorded over the four rounds by Robyn Pullar (Southland).  The course offers a rare mix of six par 3's and two par 5's. Waikato won the 2018 New Zealand Women’s Masters at Inglewood by a comfortable 6-point margin...
