Women's Crystalp Ringers Tournament

Womens Ringers Winners 2016 LR The 2016 Women's Crystalp Ringers Tournament was held yesterday at Amberley Golf Club where 25 clubs competed in a pairs aggregate stableford. North Canterbury forgot about the earthquakes for a day that was calm, hot and sunny, and the players were treated to a sumptuous afternoon tea. The Amberley course was in splendid condition but it did have its challenges as reflected in the generally modest results.  Winner of the 18 hole competition was the Ellesmere club, represented by Heather Templeton (33 points) and Marg Lowery (39) with an aggregate 72 stableford points. She Loves Golf Collage.jpg The nationally led campaign 'She Loves Golf' has seen women getting out to give golf a try at fun events throughout the country.  NZ Golf has used She Loves Golf Ambassadors to held promote the campaign including Lydia Ko, Toni Street, Laura McGoldrick, Jamie Curry, Matilda Rice and Daisy Dagg.   Nine golf clubs In Canterbury have got in behind the initiative to help grow the game running their own fun taster events.  Canterbury Golf ran a pop up activation event based at Riccarton Park Golf Complex providing a great day for the whole family.  The women received free range balls...

Lincoln - Canterbury Central Masters Champions

The Final of the Canterbury Central Masters Interclub Competition was played at Lincoln yesterday in fine, windy conditions with the home side Lincoln prevailing over Weedons Red in a verty tight match 5-4. The Lincoln team from left, back row Gary Shirley, Dave Allen, John Berry, Mike Davies and front row Darryl Moore, Clark Nutsford and Ron McLaren pictured with the trophy. Women's Champion of Champions Day

Womens Champion of Champions 2016 Gross Stableford Rosebowl Winners LR The Women’s Champion of Champions and Gross Stableford Rosebowl was played in fine, breezy weather and excellent spring conditions at Harewood Golf Club on Sunday.   The Champion of Champions Salver, 36 Hole Gross was won in commanding fashion by Jeonghyun Lee (Waitikiri) with rounds of 76 and 67 on 143 from Di Kay (Weedons) on 159 and Amy Weng (Russley) on 161. Clearwater 4 small World Golf Awards name Clearwater Golf Course best in the country for the second year in a row. Canterbury Masters Finish 6th at NZ Freyberg

The Chisholm Park Links course offered a variety of conditions all week during the NZ Freyberg played for by the 15 provinces throughout New Zealand.  The Canterbury Men's Masters team of Blair Dibley, Andrew Dufton, James Robb, Richard Belcher and Aaron Forsyth along with Manager Kevin Moyle were together as a team for the second year looking to build on their third place finish in 2015. Canterbury Women's and Men's Teams Win South Island Interprovincials

Canterbury Golf had a very successful weekend with both the Men's and Women's Team competing at their respective South Island Interprovincials. The Flexi Lease Canterbury Women's Team played at the Russley Golf Club and looking for a strong performance ahead of the NZ Women's Interprovincials.  The team of Hillary O'Connor, Juliana Hung, Catherine Bell, Jasmine Rou, Elisha Crosbie, Olive Tapu, Amy Weng and Kim Moggach put together a commanding performance to go through the event unbeaten with four wins and 26.5 individual games out of a possible 32. Club Finals - A Family Affair at Kaiapoi

Kaiapoi Golf Club have their Club Champs finals on Saturday. In the Senior grade father and son, Ron on a 5.3 handicap and Ryan Adams on a .3 are playing each other in the final.Both Ron and Ryan won their semi-finals by shooting great rounds of 68 and 67 respectively. To make the story even more interesting Ron had to play his grandson Mitchell Berry on a 8.7 handicap in the first round – with that match going to the 19th.Furthermore Leigh, Ryan’s brother who is also a member at Kaiapoi plays off a 3.1 handicap. Kobori Named as Recipient for Lydia Ko Scholarship

In partnership with Lydia Ko, New Zealand Golf is pleased to announce the three recipients of the Lydia Ko Scholarship in 2017 as Alanna Campbell (Omanu), Momoka Kobori (Rangiora) and Eujin Kang (North Shore). Two of the three, Campbell and Kobori, will travel to Orlando, Florida in January, Ko’s home base, where they will spend time with the World Number No.1, learning about what it takes to reach the top in the sport. Junior Foursomes Winners 2016 Lincoln LR The final round of Junior Foursomes Interclub was played at Russley on Sunday in calm, sunny conditions with some great scoring to match.
