The New Zealand Eagles Tournament was played at the Aviation Golf Club forty players from each district represented. Deanna Matthews (Weedons), Hayato Miy (Russley) and Tiaki Ogilvie (Russley) selected to represent Canterbury as the top qualifers from the regional event held in July.
Conditions were very challenging with a considerable amount of rainfall in the leading weeks which made the course very wet underfoot with some very soft and muddy areas.
Deanna Matthews aged 10, who plays off a 16.8 handicap won the best stableford prize over the 54 holes.
The Canterbury team finished 3rd in the team stableford just behind Auckland and Wellington.
Hayato Miya finished in seventh position in the gross section with Tiaki Ogilvie in tenth position.
