NZ Women's Masters Wrap Up

Posted by: on 9 April 2018

It wasn't the finish the Canterbury Team had hoped for after finishing the NZ Women's Masters in 13th position.  The Canterbury Women's Masters team of Kate Turner, Joanne Kent, Cheryl Kemp and Virginia Faass had good opening rounds sitting as high as tied for 10th during the competition.

The Inglewood Golf Club was a challenge for all players with only one even par round recorded over the four rounds by Robyn Pullar (Southland).  The course offers a rare mix of six par 3's and two par 5's.

Waikato won the 2018 New Zealand Women’s Masters at Inglewood by a comfortable 6-point margin from defending champions Northland.

The format of the tournament, which has not changed in 27 years is based on the cumulative total of the best three scores, gross stableford points, per team of four, per round, over four rounds.

Southland’s captain Robyn Boniface demonstrated yet again her revered consistency claiming the Canterbury Shield for the best overall individual, with 126 points, for a record 7th time.
