It's been a great week long performance by the Canterbury U19 team that competed at the Boys Interprovincial played at the Cambridge Golf Club. The team of Dominic Brettkelly, Tom Parker, Hiroki Miya, Marcel Boet, Ben Baker, Kazuma Kobori, Zach May and Hayato Miya have played superbly representing Canterbury.
Eight North Island provinces along with Canterbury and Otago are invited to compete at the event that sees the teams divided into two sections based on their finish from the previous year. Canterbury finished the round robin play tied on seven points along with Waikato and Auckland but based on a countback of games finished up third in the section which saw a repeat of last years where they played Otago in the final, this year the match would be played for fifth and sixth position.
Canterbury finished strongly and got the win over Otago 6-2. It was unfortunate that the weather played a role in this years tounament with round 4 being cancelled due to flooded greens, this meant that Canterbury didn't get the chance to play Waikato to gain valuable points as all matches were halved.

A big thank you to the Canterbury Managers that organised the team all week, Craig Vining and Tim May did a great job. We are also grateful to the Waikato Golf Association for the invitation to play in this event and for all their hard work in organising the tournament, especially the live scoring which is an added bonus.
