The Flexi Lease Canterbury Women's Team have played exceptionally well throughout the round robin to finish top of Division Two at the NZ Women's Toro Interprovincials which are being played at Sherwood Park in Whangarei this week. The new look team which has four players on debut for the NZ Interprovincials have handled the pressure well and enjoyed the teams event. Canterbury will meet North Harbour in the semi final while the other will be contested between Auckland and Bay of Plenty.
Three teams finished on five points in Division Two, Canterbury, Bay of Plenty and Waikato, which saw games determine the top two teams on a countback. Despite losing to Bay of Plenty this morning 4-1, Canterbury needed just half a game to ensure they finished top of the division. The success of the team has been having all the players contribute to win 23 of the 30 matches played. "I'm so impressed with the team" said Kate Turner Canterbury Team Manager "obviously really proud of how well the team has gone this week. Everyone has given it 100% and it's a great team environment, we are really pumped for the semi finals and will be giving it our all".
