A unique golf beginners programme has been developed by the Tai Tapu Golf Club for beginners or those who have not played for a long time. The course was developed and trialled in 2016 with twenty-eight participants producing excellent results. The programme is aimed at men and women over 50 years of age but the club is very flexible.
“Our research indicated that there are many people in that demographic that would like to play golf but are unsure or apprehensive about taking that first step” said Steve Piper, Tai Tapu Golf Club Manager. “Our programme overcomes those hurdles and the feedback from last year’s participants was fantastic. Many have now joined our club as members while others play on a casual basis”.
The club’s 2017 beginners course starts on Monday October 9 and runs for four consecutive Mondays. Each course involves an hours coaching from a PGA qualified coach after which the participants play five holes with supportive club members.
Loan clubs are available for those who require them. The cost of the course is just $85 including clubs if required.
