Pollock Cup round 3 was played at Harewood Golf Club on Sunday in warm, calm conditions with the course in great order.
Current Champions Russley showed their strength with a 3 - 1 win against the home side Harewood. Juliana Hung, Amy Weng and a big victory for Maddie May had wins for Russley while Anne Dick registered Harewood’s only point after a tight match with Robyn Cruse.
Waitikiri and newcomers Pegasus shared the points in their match with Kim Moggach and Lynley Watts having wins for Waitikiri while Hillary O’Connor, edging out Ginny Bolderston and Bobbi Oilver had wins for Pegasus.
Christchurch proved too strong for Clearwater winning 3 - 1 with wins to Olive Tapu, Melissa Newburn after a close tussle with Lynda Vieceli, and Lina Park while Amelia Garvey defeated her Canterbury team mate Catherine Bell for Clearwater’s only win.
As expected, the competition is proving to be a very even affair at this early stage with three teams Christchurch, Russley and Waitikiri locked at the top of the table.
The next round is at Waitikiri on 20 August.
