The Eagles Golfing Society of Canterbury is a non-profit incorporated society of some thirty six years whose members have given distinguished service to their Clubs and the game of golf. The eighty current Canterbury members, elected to the Society by their peers or nominated by their golf club, must be dedicated to fostering the game of golf; promotion of the fellowship of golfers; assist in encouraging and instructing junior golfers; and promoting sportsmanship, skill and etiquette. The Canterbury Eagles Golfing Society have also a charitable interest in that we raise monies for the Halberg Trust who assist young personnel with disabilities to take part in sport or active leisure in the Canterbury/West Coast district administered by this Trust.

The Lion Foundation is a charitable trust that exists for the purpose of raising funds for the community. It was established by Lion Nathan in 1985. In 2011 Lion Foundation have assisted Canterbury Golf's representative team costs.

NZCT GRANTS - Every year, we give millions of dollars in grants to thousands of applicants from a huge range of sporting groups. We are proud to be New Zealand's biggest funder of amateur sport. In 2011 the NZCT have assisted Canterbury Golf with administrative and operational costs.
Our business history started in February 1985 when Todd Heller, a fourth generation butcher, purchased a retail butchery shop in New Brighton, Christchurch. In 1990, the business started supplying their specialty sausages to the supermarkets and in 1993 moved into their meat processing plant at Kaiapoi. Today Hellers has over 300 staff and can produce, at peak, up to 240 tonnes of sausages a week, including 80 different types of sausages and saveloys, along with bacon, ham and other service deli small goods.
