Canterbury Age Group Selection Criteria
Representative Tournament 2011
South Island U16 & U19 Interprovincial
27-29 April 2010 – Levels Golf Course, Timaru
Eligibility for Selection:
1) Players must be under 19 years of age as at 27 April 2011
2) Players must be a financial full playing member whose home club is within the Canterbury District
3) Players must be a NZ citizen or hold a NZ Residence Permit
Under 16 Selection Criteria:
Performances from the following three tournaments will be taken into consideration:
1. Arthur Chambers Tournament – Weedons Golf Club, 18 Holes, Sunday 30 January
2. Coringa Open – 36 Holes, Sunday 20 February
3. Windsor Open – 36 Holes, Sunday 13 March
If you are involved in Junior Interclub which is also being played on Sunday 20 February, your performance will just be taken from the Arthur Chambers Tournament and Windsor Open.
Under 19 Selection Criteria:
Performances from the following three tournaments will be taken into consideration:
1. Russley Open – 36 Holes, Sunday 6 February
2. Coringa Open – 36 Holes, Sunday 20 February
3. Windsor Open – 36 Holes, Sunday 13 March
Final teams will be selected for the South Island Age Group Interprovincial taking into account both trial and tournament results, and past representative performances and these teams.
The final teams will be selected based on a combination of the following criteria:
• Number of top 5 finishes achieved in the three trials (five rounds)
• Stroke average from the three trials
• Previous tournament and representative results
• Attitude, commitment and conduct
The final team will be named by 16 March. Team members are expected to play in the Canterbury Age Group Tournaments in the April holidays the week leading up to the South Island Age Group Interprovincials.
