The Women's Champions Day and Gross Stableford Rosebowl Tournament was held yesterday and a tough, cold day out greeted the players with the strong winds and occasional showers at Templeton golf course
Catherine Bell of Christchurch withstood the conditions to return a 36 hole gross total of 151 which included a stunning 71 in the afternoon to claim the Champion of Champions title for 2020. Rachel Eder of Clearwater came in second with a steady 81 and 80, ahead of Amy Weng, Pegasus, in third place at 166.
The Hagley Trophy for 36 hole net was won by Rhonda Hira of Avondale with 152, a comeback for Rhonda...

Amelia Garvey is finally teeing it up in her first major championship as she joins Lydia Ko in the US Women’s Open field.
Like Ko, Garvey aspires of winning “majors and medals” and has already had numerous close calls with playing in major championships in her young amateur career, particularly with the US Women’s Open.
She’s now received an exemption into the final major of the year which will be played at Champions Golf Club from December 11 – 14.

Starting times and tees remain unchanged.

Interclub Finals Day for Woodward, Pollock, Blank and Simon Cups are on this Sunday 8 November at Waitikiri Golf Club.
Semi-Final matches for Woodward and Blank Cups will be played in the morning commencing at 8.00am. Finals for these competitions together with Pollock Cup and Simon Cup will commence in the afternoon at 1.00pm.

The Final round of Junior Foursomes 9 & 18 Hole Interclub was played at Greendale yesterday in very warm conditions and the course in great order.
The 18 Hole competition was won by Russley Gold on 288 Stableford points from Russley Blue on 259 and third on 253 points was Selwyn Hub.Winners Russley Gold (right) and Runners-up Russley Blue are pictured below.

The Friends of Canterbury Golf Launch Tournament was held last Friday on a stunning afternoon at Harewood Golf Club.
A wide cross section of members, club representatives, and businesses from the golf community turned up to play and support this new fund raising initiative from Canterbury Golf. Hellers Brand Manager Brydon Heller was on hand to welcome players and support the tournament with some of their famous sausages.
