In 2022, with the inauguration of the Matariki Holiday, Kaituna Golf Club organised an Ambrose tournament which was such a success that it was decided to try and make this an annual event. This year’s event was advertised about 5 weeks out and in around a week, the field was fully subscribed.

The annual Ashby Bergh Trophy and McGuire Hendon Cup matches were played at Rangiora Golf Course on Sunday in damp, wintery conditions.
The Ashby Bergh Trophy match was between Tai Tapu (Canterbury Central Patterson Cup Winner) and Pegasus Gold (Canterbury North Templeton Cup Winner) with the Pegasus Gold team of, from left Andy Jones, John Woods, Mike Clapham, Cam Waghorn, Tom Hobson and Royce Ellis defeating Tai Tapu’s Jason Blair, Sean Spencer, Derek Watson, Tony Thorpe, Frank Tabley and Jeff Cairns in a tight match 3.5-2.5, with three matches being decided on the final two holes.

The Toby Richards Trophy and Cresswell Cup matches were played at Kaiapoi Golf Club on Sunday in fine, cool conditions with the course in great order considering the recent rain. The Cresswell Cup match was between Avondale (Winner of Metropolitan A) and Pegasus Gold (Winner of Templeton Cup) with the Avondale team above of, from left Andrew Falck, Craig Gault, Steve Collier, Gary Holt, Hamish Ross, Marthy Bantilan, Richard Blight and Emerson Jones defeating Pegasus’s Mike Clapham, Kevin Shiel, John Woods, Cam Waghorn, Royce Ellis, Andy Jones, Tom Hobson and Graeme Reed comfortably 7.5-.5.

With the 2023/2024 season approaching Canterbury Golf has been working towards some new additions to the CGI Tour - Order of Merit series as well some additions and changes for the 2024 Canterbury Stroke Play and Match Play.
These updates have been introduced based on feedback received in addition to our continued efforts to try and improve the experience and incentive for people to play and enjoy our top-level events throughout the season.

The Final round of Canterbury North Women's Interclub competition was played at Hawarden yesterday in cool, overcast conditions in what turned out to be a thrilling finish to what had been a very close competition all season.The fortunes of the top four teams changed markedly as results were finalised, with the leading Culverden team being convicingly beaten by fourth placed Scargill 4-0, and Hanmer Springs defeating Amberley 3-1 to set up a sudden play-off between Scargill and Hanmer Springs as they finished level on 15 points each.The play-off responsibility fell on the shoulders of the teams No.1's, Scargill's Ingrid Cadenhead...

The annual Canterbury 4BBB Championship was played yesterday at Clearwater Golf. While played in overcast conditions the event was fortunate to avoid the predicted rain with the course holding up well following the downpour of the day earlier.
An event and format that draws a lot of interest saw close to 70 pairs registering for the Championship which led to an eventual strong field with many contenders in both the Men’s and Women’s competitions.

The annual Men’s Champions of Champions event was played yesterday at Pegasus Golf Club with representatives from 24 different Canterbury Clubs on display. The event offers the opportunity for clubs' Senior, Intermediate, and Junior champions to match up against the other club’s respective winners as well partake in teams events.
In the Teams Gross Stableford, Waitikiri Golf Club claimed victory with a score of 94 with Templeton coming in second with 85 on countback from Clearwater. The Waitikiri team consisted of Cooper Moore (Senior), Mark Roberts (Intermediate), and Dan McCormick (Junior.)

Cheviot's first Boyle Cup defence didn't go to plan on 24 May at their home course with the current holders being defeated by challengers Scargill.It was the neighbouring Scargill club team of, from left Jo Sampson, Caroline Murray, Jan Moir, Ingrid Cadenhead and Nic Gibb who took out the match 4-1.

Tai Tapu did the three-peat, winning the Canterbury Central Patterson Cup Final at Greendale on Sunday for the third consecutive year. It was a stunning Autumn day in the sun and the friendly rivalry between Hororata and Tai Tapu was obvious on the day.The Tai Tapu team of, from left Jeff Cairns, Derek Watson, Patrick Fitzgibbons, Jason Blair, Frank Tabley and Sean Spencer defeated Hororata's Spencer Deverell, Gavin Thomas, Martin Wills, Andrew Kenworthy, Darryl McCaughan and Tony Edwards 7-2.
The annual Selwyn vs Peninsular match was on by Selwyn 5.5-2.5.
