Canterbury Golf is pleased to announce the 2026 Canterbury Men’s Selection panel, which will consists of Mark Patterson, Matt McLean, and James Barclay.
The three selectors will each have a specific area of responsibility, while working as a team in selecting the Canterbury representative teams. Their respective lead areas are as follows:
- Mark Patterson – Seniors
- James Barclay – Masters
- Matt McLean – Juniors
We are happy to have both Matt and Mark continuing on the panel and welcome the addition of James Barclay, who has been a long-term member of the Central Canterbury Committee as well as member of the Canterbury Golf Representative Committee.
We also wish to acknowledge the efforts and commitment of outgoing selector John Rademakers who has been part of the selectors panel since 2022. A big thank you John for your contributions over several seasons.
All players who are wanting to play Canterbury representative golf in 2026 should be aware of the importance of playing in the upcoming Order of Merit events that are occurring between January – April, during which players resulted will be monitored. These include the following events:
- Weedons Open – January 4th
- Waitikiri Open – January 11th
- Waimairi Beach Seaside Open – January 18th
- Otago Stroke Play Championship – January 24th – 25th
- 2026 Wolfbrook Canterbury Stroke Play Championship, Clearwater January 31 – 1 February
- Russley Open, February 15th
- Bottle Lake Open, February 22nd
- Templeton Open, March 15th
