Canterbury Golf is happy to confirm the employment of Tony Mordaunt in the Golf Operations & Support role. Tony, a member of Russley Golf Club, joins Canterbury Golf with many years of experience in the sports industry, having worked closely with juniors, volunteers, and clubs across various levels of development. Previously, Tony worked for Harbour Sport (Regional Sports Trust) for over a decade where he held various roles focussed on school and club development providing him a strong skillset in program coordination, relationship building, and community engagement.
Complimenting this, Tony has a deep passion for golf, having previously worked as a professional caddy at Tara Iti and more recently as community coach and as a contractor for Canterbury Golf delivering Junior and She Loves Golf events. This background means he has great knowledge of golf tournaments and competitions, and importantly, a good understanding of golf clubs and the Canterbury landscape.
Tony had this to say regarding his appointment:
I’m really excited to step into this role and can’t wait to get started supporting all of Canterbury’s golf clubs, players and volunteers.
Tony will start in the role on 15 September, where he will have the opportunity to shadow the current Golf Operations & Support Mike Millward for two weeks as part of learning the role and engaging with clubs.
