The Annual Canterbury Golf Presidents and Secretaries Day was held at Russley Golf Club on Friday with the course in excellent condition, providing a real challenge for all players.
19 current and past Presidents competed for the G.W.A Green Presidents Cup this year with Canterbury Golf's President Steve Kilpatrick making it back-to-back wins on his home course and retaining the Presidents Cup with 38 stableford points on a countback from Templeton's Shawn Fibbes.

The 2019 Women’s Toro Interprovincial is set to start with a new-look Auckland side aiming to continue their dominance, this time in Canterbury’s back yard at Waitikiri Golf Club.
Auckland have won six of the last seven women’s Interprovincial titles, but travel to Christchurch having lost a large amount of experience. The Fenix Canterbury Men's Team have come through the final day of round robin play with well earned wins. This morning the team faced Bay of Plenty and worked themselves into a winning position to finish 5-0 and earn not only the win but valuable games. The match against neigbours Aorangi this afternoon was very tough with many of the team fighting back from an early deficit to win 4-1 and secure the top spot in division one booking a semi final match against Northland who have finished just behind Auckland in division two who will play against Wellington.

The Fenix Canterbury Men's Team were up against 2016 Champions Wellington in round one and knew they would need a top performance to challenge for the win. The 2018 Men’s Toro Interprovincial tees off tomorrow with Canterbury looking to make the most of playing host at the Clearwater Golf Club this week.
This five day event has been the highest honour in team’s golf since 1949 and if the locals were able to claim victory here in Christchurch, it would be the first time since the new millennium, 18 years ago.
