Tai Tapu - Women's National Club Teams' District Champions

Womens National Teams District Champions 2022 Tai Tapu Adrienne Shadbolt Jill Gimlett Karena Gibson Jeanette Drinnan LR The Women's National Club Teams' District Final was held at Harewood Golf Club on Friday in fine weather and the course in great condition. 26 clubs from the Canterbury Region were represented in the 18 Hole Four Ball Strokeplay event where the aggregate of the four ball scores of the club's two pairs is the team's score. As is expected in this event the scores were again very close with just five strokes separating the top 7 teams, but it was Tai Tapu's team of Adrienne Shadbolt, Jill Gimblett, Karena Gibson and Jeanette Drinnan who prevailed on a combined total of 132,...

Canterbury players of all ages produce a big week of results

Website story image2 Several Canterbury players across the full range of Age Groups had maiden victories in their respective events over the last week. Firstly, Canterbury representative Kazuma Kobori joined an illustrious group of a handful of amateurs to win on the Jennian Homes Charles Tour, claiming the Autex Muriwai Open. The 20-year-old Rangiora Golf Club member carded rounds of 66, 75, 69, and 68 to secure the victory by 4 strokes seeing off a competitive field. Metro B Winners 2022 Waimairi Beach LR It was great day out for Waimairi Beach Golf Club at Coringa Golf Club on Sunday where the Metro A and B Finals were played in fine conditions and the course in great order.In a first for the Waimairi Beach Golf Club both their Metro A and B teams won their respective Finals. Kaituna hold "Night Flyer" Twilight Tournament

Kaituna Night Flier golf balls Kaituna Golf Club held a unique golf tournament on Friday 1 April using "night flyer" glowing golf balls. With daylight saving ending, and darkness descending early, nine holes were played from 5pm followed by supper. By then it was dark enough to have a par-3 men’s and women’s “champagne” shoot-out using “Night Flyer” golf balls.  The flag and edge of the greens were identified by special glow sticks, and the tee box lit up with a car’s lights. Presidents Winners 2022 LR2 Sunday 3 April saw all 14 Presidents teams competing at Clearwater Golf Club. Overcast conditions at first turned into a great day for golf. With four clubs in contention for the Presidents Cup, the play turned out to be as bright as the conditions.The day started with both Templeton and Russley on the same match points in the lead. On tiebreak, half a game advantage, had Templeton in first. Close behind these two were Waitikiri and Clearwater. New Zealand Hickory Golf Open

sir bob hickory3 After years of talking about it, Sir Bob Charles, Glenn Bongartz and Stu Upton organised the first Golf Warehouse New Zealand Hickory Open at the Christchurch Golf Club, on the Shirley Links for the 13th of March 2022. 66 golfers from North and South competed in the tournament. The morning Gross Foursomes team of John Rowland and John Elliott won a tight chip off playoff from Bongartz/Lawson, Devlin/Lund and Bath/Hilton. All finished on 4 over par 40. Bongartz/Lawson had also tied in the Nett Foursomes with Neil and Sam Bromfield. Bongartz and Lawson going on to win that playoff to be Nett Champions....

Opening sessions of Talent Development Programme

The programme's intentions are to bring together our best emerging young players and to provide holistic talent development support to help them realise their potential as golfers and as people.
