Presidents Grade Winners 2021 Templeton LR The final round of Presidents Grade Interclub was held at Bottle Lake Golf Club yesterday in warm, calm autumn conditions with the course in great order.  The Champion Templeton team of, from left Paul Prendergast, Richard Hampton, John Hampton, Mark O Connor, Wayne Huddy, Tony Pupich, Murray Huddy, John Sykes and Lex Franklin were in control from the start of the competition getting away to a flying start winning their first ten matches and setting up what appeared to be an unasailable lead, however this was put to test as Templeton finished winless over the final three rounds. Scargill Win Women's National Club Teams' District Final

Womens National Club Teams District Final Winners 2021 Scargill LR On a mild still day on Friday 30 April and a challenging fast running course at Avondale, twenty-four Canterbury club teams of four contested the District Final of the annual NZ National Club Teams' event. The format was a 4BBB with the best-ball of the team two pairs added together. It was a closely contested competition with the Scargill club team emerging the winner with a combined score of 122, their players from left are Emma MacFarlane, Jo Sampson, Helen Lang and Viv Pooley. IFM Friends of Canterbury Golf Members Tournament

20210430 115255 small There was a strong turnout for the first Friends of Canterbury Golf Members Tournament held at Waimakariri Gorge Golf Club last Friday. Members were asked to bring two friends to play as a team in a three person ambrose format. The tournament would not have been possible without the generous support of Karen and Mike and their team at IFM Ltd, and the fantastic cooperation from the Waimak Gorge Golf Club. Metro B Winners 2021 Coringa LR The Finals of Metro A & B Interclub were played at McLeans Island Golf Club on Sunday in warm, calm conditions and the course in great order. The Metro A Final between Russley and Bottle Lake was a very tight affair with three matches going to the wire before last year's champions Bottle Lake made it back-to-back titles defeating Russley 4.5-3.5.The victorious Botlle Lake team of, from left Simon Carey, Shayne Dwyer, Mark Silcock, Trevor Hope, Richard Falloon and Ian Chaney. Rachel Thow It was the end of an era at Canterbury Golf when Golf Development Manager Rachel Thow finished up after 11 1/2 years in the role. Rachel's dedication, passion, and high level of expertise was celebrated last Thursday at Canterbury Golf headquarters with over 40 people coming along to bid her farewell. Many people spoke about their involvement with Rachel and the consistent theme was her unwavering dedication to providing the highest service level possible to everyone she interacted with. Canterbury Finish Fourth at NZ Women's Masters

NZ Womens Masters Team2 The 2021 NZ Women's Masters was heavily affected with over 75mm of rain falling during the tournament. This forced the organisers to abandon play on Saturday as the course became unplayable and water-logged. This was only the second time in its 28-year history that play jeopardized the 72-hole format forcing the event to be reduced to only 36 holes.
