Junior Foursomes 9 Hole Winners 2020 Selwyn Hub Blue Runners up Weedons Red LR The Final round of Junior Foursomes 9 & 18 Hole Interclub was played at Greendale yesterday in very warm conditions and the course in great order. The 18 Hole competition was won by Russley Gold on 288 Stableford points from Russley Blue on 259 and third on 253 points was Selwyn Hub.Winners Russley Gold (right) and Runners-up Russley Blue are pictured below. The 9 Hole competition was won by Selwyn Hub Blue on 141 Stableford points from Weedons Red on 133 with Weedons Black third on 123 points.Selwyn Hub Blue (left) are pictured below with Runners-up Weedons Red.

Friends of Canterbury Golf Launch Tournament

FOCG Launch Event The Friends of Canterbury Golf Launch Tournament was held last Friday on a stunning afternoon at Harewood Golf Club. A wide cross section of members, club representatives, and businesses from the golf community turned up to play and support this new fund raising initiative from Canterbury Golf. Hellers Brand Manager Brydon Heller was on hand to welcome players and support the tournament with some of their famous sausages.  The tournament was played in teams of four based on a best 3 out of 4 stableford scores on each hole. Canterbury Men's Team Finish Third at South Island Interprovincial

News Story Preview4 The Canterbury Men's Team has finished third with strong competition at the South Island Interprovincial played at St Clair Golf Club. The event provides a great opportunity for provinces to test their teams against one another ahead of the NZ Men's Interprovincial.  Canterbury got off to a solid start on Saturday beating Aorangi and Tasman, both by the same margin of 6-2 games.  Canterbury had a tight tussle with host team Otago finishing in a 4 all draw with four of the eight matches going down the 18th hole. Southland got the better of the Canterbury winning 5.5-2.5 games to win the overall title....

Blank Cup & B O'Malley Salver

The Final round of Blank Cup was played at Weedons Country Club yesterday in fine, calm conditions and the course in great order. Teams were competing for Semi-Final spots and the B O'Malley Salver was also at stake and hotly contested for the best performed player over the past nine rounds. Clearwater will play Coringa and Russley will play Christchurch in the Semi-Finals on Finals Day, 8 November at Waitikiri Golf Club. Debbie Scott & Dion Kerr Co-opted to Canterbury Golf Executive Committee

It is with pleasure that we announce the co-option of Debbie Scott (Harewood) and Dion Kerr (Clearwater) onto the Canterbury Golf Executive Committee through to the 2021 AGM. Debbie Scott  Since 1988 Debbie has been heavily involved in golf administration, particularly with her club Harewood including roles as Club Captain, President, and on the Board.  She still plays golf regularly and is a Life Member at Harewood. Debbie is also involved with Canterbury Golf as the current Women’s Masters Team Manager, and is on the Women’s Committee. Woodward Cup Rounds 8 & 9 at Harewood

The final two rounds of Woodward Cup were played at Harewood Golf Club yesterday and there were some interesting results as teams jockeyed for semi-final positions. Round 8 Templeton kept their slim sem-final hopes alive and celebrated Dan Laughton's 100th Woodward Cup game with a 4.5-3.5 upset win over front runners Russley. Laughton beat Russley's Robbie Blount 3/1, to go with wins for Jordon Latter, Tom Wilson, Ryan Bellamy, and a half to Josh Simpson. For Russley Reid Hilton, Owen Burgess, and Andrew Dufton won, and Regan Kilpatrick got the half. Harewood and Bottle Lake fought out a 4-4 draw with Ben Burgess...

Pollock Cup Round 5 at Hororata

Pollock Cup visited picturesque Hororata yesterday for the final round where the weather was warm and the course in great condition. Clearwater faced Harewood in the first match of the round comfortably winning 4-2 with convincing wins to Amelia Garvey, Rachel Eder, Di Kay and Julie Battersby while Anne Dick and Pam McTaggart had wins for Harewood. In the match up of the round unbeaten Pegasus played last year's Champions Russley with Russley needing to win and results to go their way to make the final.
