We are pleased to announce the following representative appointments. We are grateful to have the experience of these volunteers in these key representative roles.
Women’s Selectors & Management
We are fortunate to have the continued experience of Mel Brew (Convenor) and Robyn Gillespie from the Christchurch Golf Club to form the Women’s Selection panel. Both Mel and Robyn show a great passion for the Women’s representative programme and we are grateful to have their continued involvement for their fifth year in the role.
Kate Turner (Waimairi Beach) will continue to build on a great 2017 as Manager of the Canterbury Women’s Team where the Women’s Team finished as runners up at the NZ Women’s Toro Interprovincial. The Women’s Assistant Manager will be appointed in due course.
Men’s Selectors & Management
The Canterbury Men’s Selection panel has an experienced line up with Ian Donaldson (Waitikiri) continuing in the Convenor role where he will be joined by two new appointments Davitt Lavery (Waimairi Beach) and Kerry Chuck (Pegasus) along with the continued support of Ian MacGillivray (Pegasus).
Davitt Lavery brings considerable experience to the panel with having previously been a Canterbury Men’s Selector as well as currently playing on the Australian PGA Legends Tour. Kerry Chuck has played representative golf for North Canterbury and been involved playing Woodward Cup in previous years.
We are fortunate to have the continuity on our panel and look forward to using this experience as we continue to develop in 2018.
Ian MacGillivray has been appointed as the Canterbury Men’s Manager and brings a wealth of knowledge to this role with previous team management roles and having played golf at a representative level as well. The Men’s Assistant Manager will be appointed in due course.
Kevin Moyle (Waitikiri) has been appointed to continue in his role as the Men’s Masters Manager, we are grateful for the leadership and support that Kevin brings to this role.
We look forward to the representative year ahead with the NZ Men’s & Women’s Toro Interprovincials being played in Christchurch in November and December respectively.
