The Ashby Bergh Trophy and McGuire Hendon Cup were played at Lincoln Golf Club on Sunday in cool, wintery conditions and the course in great order.
The Ashby Bergh Trophy was played between Weedons Red, the winner of Canterbury Central Patterson Cup and Amberley Gold, the winner of the Canterbury North Templeton Cup.
The Amberley Gold team of, from left Roger Hack, Bruce Yates, Karl Rattray, Roger Hornblow, Gavin Burrows, Steve Hartley, Jason Murray and Dean Walker defeated Weedons Red's Chris Hay, David White, Bruce Corbett, Glenn Hames, Mike Prendergast, Ian Knowler, Terry Sullivan and Richard Poulsen 5-3
The McGuire Hendon Cup was played between Kaituna, the runner-up of Canterbury Central Patterson Cup and Kaiapoi Gold, the runner-up of the Canterbury North Templeton Cup with the Kaiapoi Gold team of,from left Mike Mercer, Ron McQuillan, Phill Tafu, Dave Hogwood, Gary Raharaha, Dion Ratahi, Graham Moore and Mike McRandle beating Kaituna's Peter Millar, Wayne Newton, Mark Walker, Chris Robertson, Bob Cole, Malcolm Ussher, Sandy McIntosh and Richard Hawkins 5.5-2.5, turning the tables on the Canterbury Central teams from the previous year when it was an all Canterbury Central affair.
