The Ashby Bergh Trophy and McGuire Hendon Cup matches were played at Tai Tapu Golf Club on Sunday in fine, warm conditions with the course in great order.
The Ashby Bergh Trophy match was between Weedons Black (Canterbury Central Patterson Cup Winner) and Rangiora Red (Canterbury North Templeton Cup Winner) with the Weedons Black team of, from left Martin Bogue, John Callaghan, Stephen MacDonald, Tony Fitzgerald, David Butts and Michael Prendergast defeating Rangiora Red’s Kevin Jones, Stretch Renai, Grant Hoben, Nigel Seaton, Murray Goodwin and Dave Millar 4-2.
The McGuire Hendon Cup match was between Lincoln North (Canterbury Central Patterson Cup Runner-up) and Amberley Gold (Canterbury North Templeton Cup Runner-up). Amberley Gold's, from left Ian Rouse, Steve Hartley, Roger Hornblow, Karl Rattray, Jason Murray and David van Turnhout defeated Lincoln North’s Darryl Moore, Murray Griffiths, Darren Lewis, Murray Mowat, Wayne Harris and Steve Harrold 5-1.
