The final round of Canterbury Central Masters round-robin play was completed yesterday at Akaroa in fine conditions.
It was also the last opportunity for individuals to stake their claim to win the Harkerss Tankard for the best individual performance over the first four rounds of competition.
With several players in contention going into the final round it was always going to be a tight finish and so it proved with three players, from left David Mansbridge (Hororata), Frank Tabley (Tai Tapu Green) and Rod Fewen (Tai Tapu Green) sharing the honours, all with unbeaten 4 from 4 records.
The two top teams from each zone will now progress to the Semi-Finals at Burnham on 6 November at 12pm, with Hororata vs Greendale and Tai Tapu Green vs Weedons Black.
