Canterbury Golf would like to acknowledge the unfortunate passing of Life Member Brian (BeeJay) Newsome.
Brian, born in 1933, was also a Life Member of McLeans Island Golf Club where he played all his golf, except for his early years at Harewood. His contribution to Canterbury Golf took place over several years including 12 years of service on the management committee between 1988 and 2000, and 7 years as convenor of selectors – 5 for junior convenor and 2 as senior convenor. He was also an age-group team manager during that time. Brian was 90 years old.
