The Final of Women's Weekend Interclub was played at Kaiapoi Golf Club yesterday in bleak, cold conditions with the course in great order and the matches played in great spirit.
The top teams from each zone after round-robin were the finalists, with Waitikiri playing Clearwater in a very tight match, with two games going to the final hole before Clearwater took the title 3.5-.5
Di Kay bt Sharon Taylor 3/2; Anita Bateman bt Jenny Rooney 2 up and Sally Jenkins bt Jen de Boer 5/3 to register Clearwater's wins, while Cynthia Hampton halved her match with Henrietta Hall.
