Health and safety must take priority over any other consideration.
As a result of the current COVID-19 precautionary guidelines, and in particular the over 70's recommendation to stay home, a decision has been made in consultation with the Canterbury Golf Women's Committee to cancel all Women's Interclub until further notice. This includes 9 Hole Interclub. Any decision about individual competition outcomes and final results will be made at a later date.
The effect on Men's President's Grade is still being considered.
Other various Canterbury Golf Interclub competitions will continue at this stage based on current restrictions and guidelines. However this could change at short notice based on government and NZ Golf advice.
We recommend that host clubs reinforce the following guidelines:
- Players should not participate in Interclub if they are experiencing flu like symptoms.
- Players should not participate in Interclub if they have been travelling internationally in the past 14 days.
- Regularly washing hands with soap (recommended) or an antibacterial wash.
- Maintaining a metre distance from playing partners
- Do not shake hands
- Do not remove the pin when putting
- Refrain from using drinking fountains and ball washers
