It is with pleasure that we announce the co-option of Debbie Scott (Harewood) and Dion Kerr (Clearwater) onto the Canterbury Golf Executive Committee through to the 2021 AGM.

Since 1988 Debbie has been heavily involved in golf administration, particularly with her club Harewood including roles as Club Captain, President, and on the Board.  She still plays golf regularly and is a Life Member at Harewood. Debbie is also involved with Canterbury Golf as the current Women’s Masters Team Manager, and is on the Women’s Committee.

Dion Kerr

Dion brings to Canterbury Golf a significant business and sporting background. Owner of many successful businesses he is currently Director of Mr Box - an innovative formwork system to help with the Canterbury rebuild, made with aluminium and steel and is 100% recyclable – versus the old wood boxing systems. He had a stellar career in rugby playing for Canterbury and the Maori All Blacks, and currently enjoys playing golf regularly at Clearwater.

Both Dion and Debbie will begin by attending the next Executive Committee Meeting on 17 November.

These co-options bring the Executive Committee up to its full complement of 10 members – the first time this has happened since the Executive Committee was constituted in 2011. The Canterbury Golf Community is served by an Executive with a broad range of expertise and skills that will continue to work hard for the betterment of golf in Canterbury.
