The Eagles NZ U17 Boys & Girls Golf Championship were played at the Te Awamutu Golf Club from 7-9 October.
Canterbury golfers had a great tournament, in the Girls U17 Championship Amy Weng (Russley) won the 54 Hole Gross by 1 shot with scores of 75, 68 and 73 for a total of 216. Amy’s 68 was 5 under par and if it wasn’t for placing, it would have been a course record.
Hayato Miya (Russley) won the Boys U17 Championship by a massive 11 shots with a 74, 68 and 70 for a total of 212. Lachie Mackay (Waimairi Beach) also had a great tournament finishing third in U17 Boys, 1 shot behind the runner-up on 224 with scores of 73, 74 and 77.
