The Final Round of Junior Matchplay Interclub round robin play was completed on Sunday at Avondale Golf Club with the Semi-Finalists being confirmed. It was very tight at the top of the table with Avondale Gold just pipping Russley White by a countback on individual games won, while a point back Russley White and Kaiapoi were also split by a countback on individual games won.
The completion of round robin play also saw the conclusion of the Best Individual Performance award for players. It was very hotly contested and not decided until the final round. Otis Scott-Cain from Rawhiti finished best with a perfect 5 from 5 winning record. Also unbeaten over the 5 rounds was Kaiapoi’s Jana Beneke with 3 wins and 2 halves from her 5 matches.
The Semi-Finals will be played at Weedons Country Club this Sunday, 23 May at 8.30am with Avondale Gold playing Kaiapoi and Russley White facing Russley Blue.
