The final round of the MTF Finance Carlton Corner Junior Interclub Foursomes was played on Sunday at Russley Golf Course with Russley Blue in the 18 hole event leading into the final round by 6 points and home course advantage over the combined team of Hororata/ Weedons. A large margin separated the top two teams from the rest of the field and for the spectators the quirk of the draw had these two playing together. Through 9 holes the combined team had pulled the deficit back to an even standing and continued on to take the trophy by 4 points.

The 9 holes stableford competition had less tension as the Futures Hub team had a lead that they kept extending, easily accumulating stableford points around the really well presented Russley golf course, with Waimairi Beach finishing Runners-up.

Thank you very much to the host clubs this year; Harewood, Kaiapoi, Weedons and Russley.
The running of the event is not possible without the contribution of the Team Managers, a big thank you to them from Canterbury Golf and the players.
Congratulations to all participants and thank you to the supporters (chauffeurs) who have helped in the running of this competition. It is an important step in the development of our junior golfers and many players currently involved in senior interclub finals and senior rep teams have started in this junior event.
We were very lucky to have our generous sponsors MTF Finance Carlton Corner assisting this Canterbury Golf junior competition. Stu Myles the principal of MTF Finance Carlton Corner was present for the final and presentation of the trophies and medals. He was most impressed in the way the players played, presented and conducted themselves and are pleased to be involved in this step of the journey.
