Earlier this month young Canterbury golfer Cooper Moore attended the NZ Eagles Golfing Society National Convention and Golfer of the Year Dinner in Hastings, during which he was named as Golfer of the Year.
As part of the convention, Cooper was invited to play in their annual tournament which consisted of one round at Hastings Golf Club and one round at Napier Golf Club. Cooper validated his nomination by shooting a personal best 9 under par 63 at Hastings Golf Club which consisted of 9 pars and 9 birdies and then followed that up the next day with a 4 under par 66 at the Napier GC.
It was a fantastic evening at the dinner where Cooper was presented the Trophy which is steeped in history with previous winners being the likes of Sir Bob Charles, Phillip Tataurangi, Steven Alker, Josh Geary, Matt Holten, Danny Lee, Lydia Ko, Daniel Hiller and Amelia Garvey.
