Round Three of Pollock Cup was played in good conditions at Weedons Country Club yesterday.
Competition leaders Pegasus and Russley showed top form with decisive defeats over Waitikiri and Waimairi Beach respectively. For Pegasus Hillary O'Connor, Rion Ishizawa, Jessica Crosbie, Karen De Latour and Bobbi Oliver had wins with Diane Archer registering a big win for Waitikiri. Russley were dominant in their match with convincing wins to Juliana Hung, Amy Weng, Maddie May, Yoyo Fu, Jasmine Clancy and Mihee Woo.
Harewood and Christchurch's two top pairings kept the result in the balance till the very end with close matches. Melissa Newburn prevailing over Anne Dick at the 17th hole, and a birdie two at the second-last hole put Catherine Bell one-up with one to play against Catherine Knight. Pars at the last hole gave Bell the win in an exciting match. Christchurch's other wins came from Margaret-Mary Coughlan and Robyn Gillespie while Julie Jones and Lynn Brand had wins for Harewood.
