Pollock Cup visited picturesque Hororata yesterday for the final round where the weather was warm and the course in great condition.
Clearwater faced Harewood in the first match of the round comfortably winning 4-2 with convincing wins to Amelia Garvey, Rachel Eder, Di Kay and Julie Battersby while Anne Dick and Pam McTaggart had wins for Harewood.
In the match up of the round unbeaten Pegasus played last year's Champions Russley with Russley needing to win and results to go their way to make the final. With Momoka Kobori away Yoyo Fu playing at No. 1 halved with Maddie May while Russley's all important wins came courtesy of Hillary O'Connor in her 50th Pollock Cup appearance, Alisia Ren and Jasmine Clancy to beat Pegasus 3.5-2.5. Sharon Stewart and unbeaten Karen de Lautour, the subsequent Merle Barley Salver Winner, pictured right had wins for Pegasus.
Christchurch also needing to win to qualify for the final and edge out Russley were pushed all the way by a determined Waitikiri team with two matches going to the 18th before the result was sealed for Christchurch winning 4-2. Catherine Bell, Olive Tapu, Melissa Newburn and Marg-Mary Coughlan had wins for Christchurch, with Jana Beneke and Cheryl Kemp winning for Waitikiri.
