The sixth round of Pollock Cup was played at Christchurch Golf Club yesterday in challenging weather conditions.
Christchurch had the bye and Pegaus took their chance to go top of the table defeating Harewood 3.5-2.5 with several close matches, in particular Hillary O'Connor, for Pegasus and Catherine Knight halving at the top of the order, while Rion Ishizawa, Jessica Crosbie and Bobbi Oliver had wins for Pegasus. Lynda Brown and Liz Warren had wins for Harewood in two other close matches.
Russley without their usual top order, Juliana Hung and Amy Weng, showed their depth of talent defeating Waitikiri 4-2. Wins from Maddie May at No.1, Jasmine Clancy, Mihee Woo and Adrienne Shadbolt got Russley across the line while Kim Moggach and Lynley Watts registered good wins for Waitikiri.
Weedons had their second win of the competition beating Waimairi Beach 4.5 to 1.5. At the top of the order Angela Gerken for Waimairi Beach and Ginny Bolderston halved their match with Nicky Muir, Deanna Matthews and Di Kay winning for Weedons with Waimairi Beach's sole win coming from Kate Turner.
The final round will be played at Harewood next Sunday to determine the Semi-Finalists.
