A mild day at Waitikiri yesterday set the scene for Pollock Cup round 3 with some good golf and two teams produced convincing results.
With a strong team led by wins from Catherine Bell, Olive Tapu and Monica Tulisi all on plus handcaps, Christchurch had a clean sweep 6-0 win over Russley. Olive's round included an Eagle 3 at the par 5 second hole. Monica's appearance was her first interclub match following recent return to amateur status and she did not disappoint with a 3 over par win at the 13th hole. Russley's task was always going to be difficult with a handicap range considerably higher than their opponents.
In the other match, Clearwater defeated Pegasus 5 games to 1. No. 1 players, Maddie May (Russley) and Amy Weng (Pegasus) battled it out to the 17th hole with Amy taking the 2/1 win. Rachel Eder at Clearwater no. 2 played near par golf to defeat Deanna Matthews 5/3. Other convincing wins by Jo Kent and Di Kay supported Clearwater's dominance in this match.
