The final round of Pollock Cup was played yesterday at Clearwater Golf Club in fine, sunny conditions and the course in excellent order.
Christchurch cemented their place in the final with another 6-0 win, this time over Pegasus. In a very dominant performance Catherine Bell, Olive Tapu, Monica Tulisi, Nicky Webb, Mel Newburn and Marg-Mary Coughlan all had convincing wins.
Waitikiri kept their best for the last by defeating Russley 3.5- 2.5 for their first team win of the round robin. Kim Moggach, Ginny Bolderston and Chris Marple had wins and Nicky Muir contributed the team half to defeat youngster Zaria Bourne at the 18th. Alisia Ren and Jaimee Leach both had wins for Russley.
Christchurch and Clearwater, who had the bye yesterday are the top two qualifying teams at the conclusion of the round robin and will compete in the final at Harewood on 7 November.
The winner of the Merle Barley Trophy for the most individual wins over the round robin, was Christchurch's Melissa Newburn who was unbeaten in all her matches.
