The weather turned a cold southerly and rain showers for the second of the two rounds at Christchurch on Sunday.
Round 2 in the morning was a catch-up from an earlier postponed round with Pegasus defeating Waitikiri 4-2. Amy Weng, Deanna Matthews, Sally Rossiter and Lyn Robertson had wins for Pegasus while Waitikiri's wins came courtesy of Jenny Clarke and Helen Smith.
In the other morning match Christchurch defeated Clearwater 4-2 with Maddie May again showing her excellent form with a 6/5 win over Catherine Bell, while Catherine Knight and and Nicola Webb halved together with Mel Brew and Lynda Vieceli. Wins for Christchurch from Olive Tapu, Monica Tulisi and Mel Newburn were the difference, securing the win.
In the afternoon matches the conditions did not deter the match of the day between no. 1 players Clearwater's Maddie May and Waitikiri's Kim Moggach who played sub-par golf and could not be separated to end their Round 4 match in a half. Rachel Eder, Catherine Knight, Di Kay and Lynda Vieceli all had wins for Clearwater defeating Waitikiri 4.5-1.5. Chris Marple registered Waitikiri's only win.
Russley registered their first win of the competition in the afternoon upsetting Pegasus 4-2. After some very close finishes Alisia Ren, Lynn Brand, Kawhena Rangihaeata and Jaimee Leach won for Russley with Amy Weng making it two-from-two for the day and Debbie Scott winning her match for Pegasus against teenager Zaria Bourne 1 up.
The next round of Pollock Cup is on 10 October at Clearwater.
