A top field of Canterbury amateurs will turn out for the Golf Warehouse Canterbury 4BBB Championship being held at Pegasus Golf Club this Sunday 19 June.
Demand to play in this championship has been strong with many pairs balloted out of both the men's and women's fields.
The men's title will be hotly contested with a high-quality field. There are seven pairings with a combined "plus" handicap. Leading the field are the pairing of Canterbury reps Zach May and Dominic Brettkelly on a combined +4.9. They are closely followed by the "Golf Warehouse" pairing of Reid Hilton and Peter Brinsdon, and then Dean Harvey and Sam McGill. Other pairings of interest are Cooper Moore and Taylor Hosking, Kris O'Neill and Jordon Latter, Shaun Allan and Phil Stephens, and Josh Simpson and David Zohrab.
The women's field is lead by Canterbury reps Catherine Bell & Olive Tapu - the only pairing on a combined plus handicap. Of the other pairings most opposition will come from the pairings of Alisia Ren & Deanna Matthews, and Jasmine Clancy and Estelle Lin.
Prizes will be awarded in men's and women's gross and net divisions.
This Sunday will be a celebration of top amateur golf in Canterbury bringing together the cream of the crop for an 18 hole shoot-out that could see some spectacular scoring. Aside from the golf, the social opportunity of bringing our best players together should not be overlooked, as we look to restart top flight golf in Canterbury for the remainder of 2022 and into the Summer through 2023.
