The Final of the Women's Weekend Interclub competition between Pegasus and Rangiora 1 was held at Russley Golf Club on Sunday in cool conditions and the course in good order considering the previous 24 hours of rain.
The day started out quite heavy underfoot, a few light showers with relief required from water on occasions, but by the fourth hole the day improved and lightened up finishing in sunshine, albeit with a cold southerly wind.
The result was in the balance with the final two matches going down to the penultimate hole before the Rangiora 1 team of from left, Sue McFarlane, Karen Craigie, Sonia Read and Biddy Bowring gained the upper hand to defeat the Pegasus Blue team of Bobbi Oliver, Sharon Stewart, Libby Hilder and Rosemary O'Brien 3-1.
It was great to see so many supporters for both teams, with caddies for all, so quite the gallery as the last two pairs finished their matches.
