After the tournament was cancelled last year due to inclement weather the 2022 Golf Warehouse 4BBB Championship was held at the same venue - Pegasus Golf Club. A full field turned out and braved the cold conditions on a well turned out championship layout.
There was some good scoring, none better than former Canterbury Rep Andrew Green who fired a four under par 68 that included a bogey on the par 5 18th hole. He led his team to victory in the men's championship, with partner Jed Robertson chiming in on the last couple of holes for a combined score of 66 in the best-ball format. They were one shot ahead of the Russley pairing of Cooper Moore and Taylor Hosking with 67, then a further shot back to the Pegasus pairing of Shaun Allan and Phil Stephens, and the young pairing of Seb May and Hayden Lam both on 68.
Christchurch's Catherine Bell and Olive Tapu were too good in the women's championship scoring 74, to beat the Masters pairing of Jo Kent and Sally Rossiter who had 77.
The men's net prize winners were the Harewood pairing of Charlie Su and Cook He with 62, and in the women's the Ashburton pairing of Pauline Bell and Sharon Bradford with 65.
Clearwater's Rachel Eder was not amongst the prizes but was chuffed to get her first hole-in-one after acing the par three second hole.
The cafe was full to the brim for the prizegiving as Golf Warehouse's Peter Brinsdon congratulated the winners.
A huge thank you to Pegasus Golf Club and their staff for hosting, and to our sponsors Golf Warehouse for again supporting the tournament.
