The Finals of the Women's 18 Hole 4's and 6's Interclub Competitions were held at Rangiora on Monday in crisp, sunny conditions with the course in great order.
The 4's Final was always going to be a postive outcome for the Tai Tapu Club with Tai Tapu 1 facing off against Tai Tapu 2. In a very tight contest, with two matches going down to the wire it was the Tai Tapu 1 team of, from left Jenny Stephens, Donna Edwards, Pearl Park, Jill Gimblett, Penny Coffey and Sue Hart (pictured above) that managed to get across the line against their Tai Tapu 2 club mates Sharon Screen, Anne Siave, Diane Stalker, Janet Nicholls and Adrienne Shadbolt 2.5-1.5
The 6's Interclub Final between Christchurch and Clearwater was also a real arm wrestle with one match going to the 17th and another two to the 18th before the Clearwater team of, from left Wendy Timbs, Cynthia Hampton, Pam Bowden, Deb Harvey, Anita Bateman and Philippa Cooke closed out the Final defeating a gallant Christchurch team of June Edwards, Lorraine Smith, Rosemary Austin, Terry Cain, Dawn McKenzie and Jan North 3.5-2.5.
The matches were played with great team spirit and competition and it was great to see spectators and caddies supporting their teams.
