Yuki Miya (Russley) and Cooper Moore (Clearwater) have recently accepted an invitation to Golf New Zealand’s National Junior Training camp that falls under Phase 2 of the National Talent Development Programme.
The camp will take place from the 10th to the 13th of July at St Peters Golf Academy, Cambridge. The goal for each camp is for Golf NZ to get to know the players a little bit more while helping to grow their skills. This year the focus of the camp will be on tournament preparation, play and review. Players will be taken through the resources and systems Golf New Zealand uses when squads and teams travel away to compete internationally.
Yuki and Cooper, who recently won the U19, and U16 Canterbury Golf Order of Merit awards respectively are both committed and talented players that have represented Canterbury in Junior teams over recent seasons as well as enjoying various success in recent tournaments individually.
Both Yuki and Cooper are members of the Canterbury Golf Talent Development Programme (TDP) which sits within phase 1 of the national strategy. Its intention is to bring together our best emerging young players to provide holistic talent development support to prepare them and to move them towards phase 2 and beyond within the national framework. Accordingly, their inclusion in the upcoming training camp is a pleasing sign aligned to our TDP and a credit to both players' commitment and ongoing work towards their development which we congratulate them on.
