The Flexi Lease Canterbury Women's Team have topped off a great 2015 year by taking out the prestigious Canterbury Team of the Year Award at the Marriotts Hadlee Sports Awards. A remarkable achievement for the Canterbury Women's Team, whose average age was 16, to win the NZ Women's Interprovincial at the Ashburton Golf Club in December.

The final round of Over 50's & 60's Interclub was played at Rangiora on Sunday in fine conditions. Christchurch comfortably won the Pirie Cup for the fifth consecutive year for Best Team Gross on 1410 from Tai Tapu on 1451. This year's trend of upset finals continued with Kaiapoi defeating Greendale 3 matches to 1 in the Women's Weekend final held at Christchurch on Sunday 21 May.
The day started cold and wintry but improved somewhat in the later stages of this match. Greendale's Dale Macdonald, Kath Adams, Janelle Lewis and Diane Gibbs came to the final having been undefeated in round robin play and the semi final. The Flexi Lease Canterbury Women's Team have performed at the highest level all week to go through eight rounds undefeated and win the NZ Women's Toro Interprovincials. The team played against North Harbour in a tense semi final. Hillary O'Connor secured the first win for the team holding her nerve down the 18th hole winning 2 up. Catherine Bell had a dominant performance winning 7/6 and Amelia Garvey came in with a halved match.
